Noted Lore: - After the humans were created, they found themselves in a perilous situation. By day, they could hunt, fish, and build, but by night, they were at the mercy of the monsters of the dark. Many humans died every night, until Dararma stepped in. In her mercy, she cast lights into the sky, the stars that would shine in the darkness. This helped, but the humans were still dying in droves. Finally, in desperation, Dararma entered the physical realm herself, casting down her own light onto Calsin. However, this effort is so strenuous that she can only remain for a short time before slipping back into the godly realm. Once there, she gathers her strength and returns, providing light in the night as much as she can.
Conventional lore: - Given that gods can enter and exit the mortal realm at will (and given that the moon can be seen even when completely dark) it is thought that Dararma is simply a fable, or at the least a greatly exaggerated story. The Council does allow for the possibility that Dararma is based on a real deity that created the moon, as there are known magical effects associated with moonlight.
