The original species to walk Calsin, the firingar were born from fire and flames, created by the same entity that formed Calsin itself. At that time, Calsin was a land of fire and lava, volcanoes and rivers of liquid rock. The firingar themselves were formed from this material, beings of living stone and magma. For an unknown amount of time, they ruled the world, building up monuments and towers, though it isn't known what these structures were intended to do.
As the original species, they never have exhibited an enormous tendency towards a central culture, which is likely what prevented them from maintaining their power. As the world began to cool and the same creator god began sculpting more species, the firingar became jealous, destroying anything else that they saw. In the end, it was the giants that wound up saving the world from their might, as they cast a spell to cool the entire continent, greatly restricting the amount of land that the firingar could survive in. To this day, the firingar remained trapped in the Scorched Lands, though a select few were altered to survive in extreme cold temperatures, now known as the frostingar.
Size: - 50-75 feet
Unusual Characteristics: - Made from living stone and magma - The firingar are unable to survive for more than a few days outside of the Scorched Lands, as the magma in their body begins to cool and they simply turn to stone and crumble. - Unlike every other species, the firingar have never been observed to have male and female counterparts, and instead simply give themselves to the magma, upon which point new firingar are born from those ashes. Communication with the creatures is nearly impossible, but it is suspected that firingar retain the memories of their parents, thus meaning that every single firingar alive still has memories from the early days of the continent.
Coloring: - Molten red
Lifespan: -400-500 years
Magic: -It is unknown if the firingar possess any latent magical abilities.
Worshiped gods: - It is known that the firingar worship the god that created Calsin itself, but they refused to divulge the name of that entity.
Other notes: - The only way that communication is possible with the firingar is by using a dragon as an intermediary. For some reason, the firingar seem to respect the creatures, and will sometimes allow themselves to be drawn into conversations.
