As the firingar battled with the other species slowly filling their world, they knew that they were fighting a losing battle. They were more powerful, but the ground was cooling, making for longer and longer treks between the pools of lava where they could survive. When the giants cast the spell that permanently cooled the land, millions of firingar died, unable to make it back to safety. The surviving firingar knew that they needed to change, and fast. They called upon their creator god, pleading for a way to keep them alive. In response, the creator did two things. He created a safe haven, the Scorched Lands, a place magically tuned to allow for volcanoes and sulfer, the conditions needed for the firingar to survive. He also altered several of them, changing their entire bodies, until they were made from ice instead of fire. The new creatures, the perfect opposite of the firingar, began to call themselves the frostingar, and were subsequently moved to the frozen wastelands of the north. Though they initially continued to declare war on the giants, they found that they simply didn't need to. Their temperaments had been changed as well, causing them to become much more accepting of other species. To this day, they have yet to make any moves against other species, and though they don't allow anyone to venture north of the tundra, they're more than happy to meet elves and other emissaries on the southern borders of their territories to speak with the lower mortals.
Size: - 50-75 feet
Unusual Characteristics: - Made from living stone and ice - The frostingar are unable to survive for more than a few days outside of the tundra, as they simply begin to melt and fall apart. - While the firingar seemingly don't have male and female counterparts, the frostingar actually do. Births have never been witnessed, nor it is known what distinguishes the males from the females, but the frostingar enjoy talking about it enough that it's been well enough accepted as fact.
Coloring: - Icy blue
Lifespan: - 200-400 years
Magic: - The frostingar seem to have no latent magical abilities.
Worshiped gods: - Like the firingar, the frostingar worship the god that created Calsin itself. However, the knowledge of who or what that entity is was lost during their transformation.
Other notes: - Frostingar, like firingar, will inherit memories from their parents. However, when the transformation was performed, the newly transformed frostingar lost all of their memories from before, likely due to the extreme shift in composition. As such, every frostingar in existence has memories from that transformation, but not before.
