An ancient beast untouched by time, the korcats have been around for nearly all of Calsin's history. Massive cats the size of two horses, they sport claws that can rip a human apart in seconds. If the claws aren't enough, they sport two massive tusks that can exude a powerful venom, harmless to the korcat itself.
If the korcats were less shy, they would likely be a major threat. As it is, korcats tend to stay as far away from civilization as possible, and will even flee sentient caravans in the wild. Typically, they will only attack if they are threatened or ill, though once they do attack, they rarely leave any survivors.
Height: - 6-9 feet
Length: - 20-30 feet
Characteristics: - Strong enough to tear through inch-thick steel. - Very shy, these beasts will flee unless provoked. - Their venom is powerful enough that a single drop will take down most sentient species (orcs sometimes take two or three). - Their fur coats varies widely dependent on their habitat. Korcats down south have very short coats, and typically sport a more dappled coat. On the other hand, the northern varieties have far thicker coats and much lighter colors.
Other notes: - Korcat venom is one of the most valuable liquids in Calsin. Countless hunters have lost their lives just trying to collect a single vial for sale. - If the korcat is found while still a kitten, it is technically possible to take one. However, most attempts to do so have ended with the korcat running away as it grew older and the innate fear began to kick in.
