One of the all-magical species in Calsin, pixies were long assumed to be fully sentient beings. It is easy to understand this misconception, as they resemble fairies quite distinctly. However, unlike their benevolent counterparts, pixies lack any sort of sentience, and will simply kill and destroy at their leisure.
Pixies, like most magical creatures, have never been observed being born. They seemingly are formed in the sacred groves of the Elsinor, alongside the fairies. However, no matter how closely the Persphonar monitor these groves, the actual creation of a pixie has never been seen. One moment, there won't be anything, the next moment, there will be. It also doesn't help that pixies will often kill anyone around them, making it even harder to learn of their creation. Once formed, pixies typically keep to themselves in the wilds of Elsinor, attacking small bands of travelers (though they will attack larger settlements if provoked). All pixies possess an internal well of magic that they can use to cast destructive spells. Once their well is depleted, they can only replenish it by sucking the life energy out of other beings.
Height: - 1-2 inches
Characteristics: - More or less resemble an elven female. - Two large, dragonfly-like wings.
Habitat: - Elsinor
Weaknesses: - Magic-negating fields will often prevent pixies from attacking, or kill them altogether.
Other notes: - Wizards have, on many occasions, attempted to absorb pixies for their magical power. While this is possible (and will often provide the wizard with an extraordinary, if temporary, well of energy), a pixie's magic is usually corrupted. Absorbing the power of a pixie will drive most people insane, sometimes causing them to turn evil.
